Going Once, Going...Fourth
Written by Kristin Lundberg on December 03, 2003This year?s 4th annual Dinner and Auction Fundraiser took place without a hitch. On December 4th, 2003 the Shelton High School cafeteria was filled with eager bidders ready to purchase items from the large selection of prizes, donated to the team from friends and community businesses. Those in attendance included students, faculty, engineers, family, and friends of the Gaelhawks, who supported the team while enjoying an evening of food and fun. As guests entered the cafeteria they immediately had the opportunity to buy raffle tickets to use on the Chinese Auction, and place bids for the Silent Auction.
The main event was the Live Auction, where Mr. Niski and Mr. Schmecker shared the duties of auctioneer as the major items went up for bid. The hot sellers included baseball tickets, ski trips, and a real Christmas tree that would come just in time for the holidays. These and other similar items contributed to the tremendous financial success of the evening.
Once again, a delicious dinner was catered by Smeraglino Caterers of Bridgeport. Everyone attending enjoyed the chicken, pasta, salad, and wide array of desserts. As the guests participated in the various auctions and enjoyed their meal, students displayed robots from past years, to give all in attendance a first hand glimpse of what the fundraiser supports. The evening was an all around success. Guests left completely satisfied, their hands full of prizes and purchases.
This year?s auction brought in funds needed to support our efforts for the current season. The Shelton High School Robotics Team extends sincerest thanks to those in the community who generously contributed to the auction, as well as to everyone who purchased tickets and supported the team with their attendance.
