Team 230 Wins the WPI Regional

On March 13, Team 230, the Gaelhawks, was crowned champions of the first FIRST WPI Regional in Worcester, Massachussetts.  The croud went wild every time our robot scored a ball in Autonomous, and you could hear the members from the other teams cheer for the next ball to go into the goal.  As the matches rolled by, our team members went around to the other teams at the regional to see how their robot was performing and how their team works together.  Many teams were on the list to be on our alliance in the finals, but in the end we had to pick and our first pick was team 20, the Rocketeers.  Our second pick was much harder to determine.  When we picked Team 20, we had already worked with their team on several different occasions.  Against what all the other teams at WPI thought, the Gaelhawks picked Team 228, GUS.  They had not played the last 3 matches of qualification matches they had because something had broken.  Together we made a very tight alliance, a robot for long distance, a defense robot, and a herding robot for those balls that just don't make it into the goal.  Team 230 also won the Innovation in Control Award sponsored by Rockwell Automation and shared the the Coorpertition Award with Team 20.
