More than 275 Housatonic Council Troop 3 Derby Boy Scouts have attained Scouting's highest honor since the troop was organized in I9I4 at the Derby Second Congregational Church.  However for the first time on June 19, Scouts were presented their Eagle Scout badges courtesy of a robot.

The Shelton High School Robotics Team 230 Gaelhawks robot maneuvered down the aisle of the Second Congregational Church, raised its arm up and presented the Eagle Scout badges for the mothers of Ryan Roussel of Shelton and Michael Tracz Jr. of Derby to pin upon the chests of their sons.  Ryan was co-captain of the robotics
team, and Troop 3 Scout Brian Welch, also a member of the team, handled the robots maneuvering.

For Michael's Eagle Project, he inventoried over 5,500 pieces of equipment for Paugassett Hook and Ladder Company No. 4 and East End Hose Company No. 3, both of the Derby Fire Department.  This took Michael, other Scouts and volunteers 434 hours to complete.  Mike is the 27th Eagle Scout from Troop 3 Derby.
